I love myself.
We started like this, but luckily only a few people remain here as adults. No one is more important to this person than him or herself.
I love my group.
Here groups become important to us - MY religion, MY race, MY country,
MY political party, MY sports team. Only people in these groups matter to us.
I love so much more.
Now we become citizens of the world - OUR children's safety, OUR planet's future. People everywhere seem more like us. Their story is our story.
Most adults remain in step 2. We must do a whole lot better, and we can by embracing Step 3 now and taking this opportunity to reach our full potential as adults.
We have no evacuation plan from this planet. We must stay right here and fix this for the future of humanity. We have the ability to make this necessary change; to transform our lives; to reach this essential goal.
Hope still survives that we can do a Whole Lot Better.
Please reach us at rhetoric4change@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I now have a YouTube channel - awholelotbetter. There you will find videos about this important topic of growing up into Step 3 in order to learn how to work together and solve the problems of the world. I hope the videos will motivate your personal practice of improving how we interact with our world.
My past podcasts (Rhetoric for Change) can still be found on Podbean and Spotify. And I might post new ones here in the future along with blogs.
Nurses must constantly assess each patient they care for. As an RN, I developed the ability to quickly and accurately determine many aspects of people, especially their developmental stage. This practice was assisted by the work of Erickson, Kegan, and others. I created this simplified model to specifically address the need for all of us to know the steps we must take to grow up as adults.
